Which office supplies are getting the most expensive?
An office supply store has been awarded the most costly office supply contract ever awarded by the United States Office of Special Counsel, according to a report in The Washington Post.
In the case of the Kmart Office Supply, a manufacturer of office supplies, the company is the top recipient of the $3.6 million contract awarded by OSC.
The company’s product is a range of office supply products and services for offices and businesses, including a “bulk pack” of supplies and accessories, which can range in price from $20 to $40 per unit, according the report.
The award was the largest ever in the OSC’s office supplies contract review, with the total value of the award of $2.5 million, The Post reported.
The Kmart product, the largest contract ever, is called the Office Supply for All Office Products and Services for U.S. Companies (OSPAN), and it was awarded to Kmart in July of this year.
The product was originally expected to cost $6.8 million per unit.
Kmart did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The OSC also awarded $1.8 billion in other office supply contracts to four vendors.
The largest of those was awarded by another of the largest office supply companies, CVS Pharmacy.
The contract awarded to CVS was for a range to $10.9 million per item.
CVS also did not respond to requests for comment on the award.
