New York Giants report: Carson Wentz out indefinitely
NEW YORK — New York’s Eli Manning will be out indefinitely after being diagnosed with a mild left foot sprain.NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday that the Giants have placed Wentz on the physically unable to perform list, and that he will miss the rest of the season.
Manning’s absence is the latest in a string of setbacks for Manning in the past month.
He suffered a knee injury in Week 2 and then was placed on injured reserve last week after missing a game in Week 4 with a back injury.
Manning has now been placed on the PUP list six times in the last seven games.
The Giants announced Monday that they placed linebacker Myles Jack on injured hold.
Jack missed two games this season with an Achilles injury.
He had started five games before he suffered the injury.
Jack, who had five tackles in Week 3, was released by the Lions in the offseason.
He’s the latest player to be released by a team that signed quarterback Eli Manning to a lucrative four-year deal last year.
