Bluebird office supply warehouse opens in North Dakota
Bluebird Office Supply, a Minneapolis-based company that supplies office supplies to companies, retailers and nonprofits, has announced a $20 million investment in North Carolina.
The company said in a statement that the expansion will create thousands of jobs and generate $3.6 billion in additional tax revenue.
The announcement comes as Bluebird has seen its stock price tumble in recent weeks amid a series of reports about the company’s poor sales performance.
The company reported disappointing third-quarter earnings last week, and CEO Michael Czuba announced that the company would be shutting down by the end of the year.
Bluebird, which has offices in several states including Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri and Texas, said that it will invest in an expansion of the North Carolina facility to increase capacity.
Blue Bird said that its expansion will be complemented by a new facility in the Minneapolis area and a new retail store.
